Have you ever been to Poland? Have you ever thought of discovering this beautiful country? Time to do that now.

From the „Paris of the east“through Gdansk to the “Polish Sahara”, Poland’s charming cities and undiscovered landscapes can be explored best by car.
Whoever would like to get a first-class picture of Poland should start his trip at Wroclaw. This metropolis belongs to the province of Lower Silesia and radiates the charm of an undiscovered Paris of the east. You must take a wander along the historic centre’s ring with its restored middle-class houses and the famous gothic town hall. Here you will find plenty of the café’s ambient terraces that invite you to eat a typical Silesian poppy-seed cake. Also the neighbouring salt-market has an adorable atmosphere.

After that a trip with a small pleasure boat on the River Oder leads you to the famous island “Ostrów Tumski”. In addition to that island you should visit the first colonisation, founded in 900 AD by Piast dynasty’s ruler. The island is lit by gas streetlamps which in the evenings making it perfect for a romantic walk.
You drive across the province of Lower Silesia and past Poznan and Bydgoszcz to get to Gdansk. One highlight of Gdansk is the tower of the town hall where you get a panorama view over the whole city. St. Nicholas’ Church is the oldest in north-west Gdansk and was built in the 12th century. St Mary is the largest brick church in the world and is only 5 minutes away from the Town Hall on Long Market Street. For all amber fans the picturesque Mariacka Street is a must-see. Here you have one shop after another; from modern to traditional you will find everything for everyone due to the varied prices suited to every budget. The short promenade alongside the Motlawa leads you to the emblem of Gdansk: the Zuraw (Polish for a gate). There is another attraction close to the gate: if you like to make your skin crawl, you should visit the torture chamber at the promenade next to the gate where you will see the Middle Ages come to life.
In August there is the traditional 13th century market. The Dominican Market. It has survived several regimes and is a bustling collection of fun fairs for kids and stalls selling things such as art, handwork and other delightful bargains. Furthermore there is a jewellery market, which brightens up the face of every starry-eyed lover. Even the free culture and concert programs offered during summer are worth seeing.
The Baltic Sea is not far from here: take a deep breath of the salty sea air at the famous Leba bathing resort, which also includes boasts the impressive Slovencina Nature Park. After you’ve seen it you’ll surely come back to Poland.
This coast area is called the “Polish Sahara”. It takes about two hours to drive to the dream beaches of the resort Leba, when you start in Gdansk by car. Due to the shifting sand dunes, the small fishing village sank in the sand centuries ago and had to be rebuilt.
Leba is clear and comfortable and up ‘til today, nature has the priority. In addition to the long sandy beaches of the Baltic Sea, the Slovincina National Park is the main attraction with its 140 feet high dunes. This oasis of nature is located between Leba and Lake Gadno. On top of the national park’s dunes you have an amazing view over the two lakes and far over the Baltic Sea.
