761,400 square miles. Mexico boarders Belize and Guatemala and is characterised largely by its mountainous highlands. Explore the various rock formations, chalk cliffs and volcanic land. The State of Tabasco is located on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico and reflects a unique part of Mexico due to the remarkable marshes. A trip to Quintana Roo is a must on your drive through Mexico, one of the country’s states on the Caribbean coast. Here you’ll drive through the most beautiful rainforests, a stark contrast to the stunning Caribbean beaches. As soon as you reach the country’s centre you should take a drive through the state of México, where you can go north to see the breathtaking ruins. Teotihuacán depicts some of the most impressive antiquities of the Americas. Further north you will pass through the Chihuahua, Mexico’s biggest state. It boarders the USA in the North and is characterised by its plateau with a steep western slope. In the North you will come across a genuine desert landscape: the Chihuahuan Desert. The northenmost state in Mexico is Baja California, lying directly on the boarder of its US counterpart. Drive through this beautiful, warm and sunny state with a total size of around 69,900 km². Marvel at the most beautiful vineyards and indulge in the wine made from ripe grapes. The country’s capital is also worth a visit in your drive through the country. Mexico City has 8.7 million residents. The city lies at the bottom end of the Valley of Mexico, surrounded by mountains, with Tecoco Lake at its centre.
