The spectacular Amalfi coast in Campania is definitely a place worth visiting. The Amalfi coast is a stretch of coastline on the Southern side of the Sorrentine peninsula of Italy extending from Positano in the West to Vietri Sul Mare in the East.
This rugged mountainous coastline offers an excellent opportunity to hire a sports car, roll the top down and let the wind through your hair as you take a spin round this winding mountain pass- truly exhilarating!
Once you have enjoyed some of the most staggeringly beautiful views across the bay of Naples why not stop off in one of the many charming towns such as Positano, Praiano, Amalfi, Ravello, Minori or Maiori to name but a few- each one offers something new for you to discover.
Positano boasts some of the best hotels in the world along with many restaurants offering numerous mouth watering Mediterranean dishes.
Ravello is situated 360km high on the Amalfi Coast- relax and enjoy one of the many flavours of Gelato- ice cream and enjoy the views.
A little further inland this drive links Amalfi to Sorrento. Sorrento is a popular tourist destination, offering views across the Bay of Naples, with the slumbering Mount Vesuvius looming in the distance. Treat that someone special to a romantic meal in one of the many fish and seafood restaurants to be found on the two Marinas and don’t forget to order a bottle of delicious Italian wine to compliment your meal. Sorrento is famous for the production of limoncello – an alcoholic digestif made from lemon rinds, alcohol, water and sugar. Be sure to stop off at the Pink Elephant and stock up for your trip home. 
For those of you energetic enough- take a walk up to the summit of Mount Vesuvius and gaze down at its vast cavern of black ash and rock and of course admire the whole of the Amalfi Coast from this excellent vantage point. Staying on a volcanic theme make sure you visit the fascinating sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Once you have satisfied your cultural needs take to the water and buy tickets for a hydrofoil or ferry boat to the famous Island of Capri where you can enjoy some exclusive shopping and mingle with the rich and famous as well as explore the magical Blue Grotto- La Grotta Azzurra.
To relax and unwind take another ferry ride to Ischia, a volcanic Island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, at the Northern End of the Bay of Naples. Enjoy the benefits of Ischia´s thermal hot springs and volcanic mud pools both of which are very popular with tourists.
The Amafli coast and surrounding area has something for everyone so make sure that you place it high on your list of destinations to visit! You will not be disappointed!
