India

Travelling to India can  be undoubtedly an experience of your life.
From snow-capped mountains to sun-washed beaches, amazing old bazaars and designers boutiques to rural villages and modern urban cities India couldn’t be more diverse. With over a billion

inhabitants  India is the world's second most populous country in the world. It is also the world's most culturally, linguistically and genetically diverse geographical entity after the African continent!

With its different languages ( in over 28 states people use their own official language) as well as number of different ethnic groups India can be a real cocktail for a European traveller.
The main religion Hinduism seems to be reflected in everyday life in many extraordinary traditions.
Due to the country’s reach history, which goes back to at least 2500BC when the first known civilisation settled along the Indus River in India you will find in India an incredible number of exquisite palaces, temples and monuments.
Thus, the most frequently visited part of India is the Golden Triangle, comprised of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Meanwhile, the metropolis such as cities of Mumbai (Bombay) and Kolkata (Calcutta) have a bustling, colourful charm, while the holy city of Varanasi and the awe-inspiring temples of Tamil Nadu are rewarding places of pilgrimage.

For those in search of tropical bliss, there are the palm-fringed beaches of Goa and Kerala, where you can paddle in the shimmering waters. The lovers of the great outdoors can also scout for tigers on an adrenaline-pumping wildlife safari in Kanha National Park, or simply breathe the fresh air on a rejuvenating trek in Himachal Pradesh.
One of the most fascinations about India is the striking juxtaposition of old and new. The country has managed to preserve established traditions while absorbing new customs and traditions. Thus, it seems that the history and legend walks hand in hand with modern- day living. Today India will bombard you with slick Internet cafes, fancy fast-food eateries and swanky bars.

And then there’s the food! From squidgy south Indian idlis (rice dumplings) to zesty north Indian curries, travellers are treated to a positively seductive smorgasbord of subcontinental specialities.

When considering when to go it is important to bear in mind the three national holidays: Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15), and Gandhi Jayanti (October 2) which occur on the same day every year. In addition, there are three major nationwide festivals.Usually during this time drinking and smoking are not permitted outdoors.
