Beautiful view over Hamburg and its Alster Lake

How well do you know Germany? If you look at this country closely, you will find a great deal to explore! Germany is a very diverse and multifaceted country. Whether culturally, architecturally, or scenically,

Germany combines a great deal. No matter how devise your travel plan, everywhere there are exciting and unforgettable experiences just waiting for you! The North Germanic Plain, with its never-ending, vast landscapes, the Wadden Sea, dune landscapes, the Haligen Islands in the North Sea and the German Bight. Enjoy the climate! No other part of Germany is so influenced by the Mediterranean. Experience the elements on Sylt, Föhr or Amrum –an unforgettable experience at any time of year. In the warm summer the long sandy beaches of the Baltic are inviting as a perfect place to sunbathe and have a first class bathing experience. Expect particularly delightful coast areas in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region. The North German town, with its brick-based architecture and its Hanseatic past rounds off your picture of North Germany. Bemen, Hamburg, Lübeck, Wismar, Schwein, Stralsung and Greiswald are the most beautiful cities in the region and are definitely worth visiting.

West Germany is shaped around its resident’s joie de vivre. It feels like one big party! Take the time to visit Cologne, the biggest city in the in the west of the republic. The countryside is lovely. terms of their architecture. You find more of the like in the middle of Germany. The area on the Rhein, the Moselle and the Main are favoured by the climate, the vineyards being a testimony. The small cities of Tübingen and Heidelberg are world-famous. They are typical German towns: unique mountainous landscapes, picturesque towns with half-timbered houses and charming villages – here you’ll see the Germany that is known the world over! An insider’s tip: go to Göttingen. This city is a wooden paradise for art and architecture lovers.
The countryside of East Germany allures with its unspoilt nature: the plains of Brandbenburg are sparsely populated. The Elbe landscapes are beautiful, in particular the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The forests of the Erz Moutains are dreary and mystical. Particular towns worth seeing are Halle, Zwickau and Görlitz, cities destroyed in the Second World War, and are mostly untouched. It is recommended to visit the towns with the hire car, so that you are most flexible.

Lepzig conserves much of its old character. Dresden is definitely worth visiting, the ‚Elbflorenz’ (Florence of the Elbe). Around the centre parts of the old town have been reconstructed remarkably.

Whoever thinks of South Germany, Munich and the Alps spring to mind: skiing in winter, hiking tours in summer, comfortable bier gardens and fairytale castles. And on top of that (almost) always lovely weather. Indeed, the South has much to offer: Lake Constance – a surfing and swimming paradise – aged cities along the Danube, Regensburg and Straubing, to Passau, the highland of the Bavaria and Oberpfälzer Forrest in the East and the Black Forrest in the West. A visit to Augsburg is recommended. The old city has conserved its old charm.
Berlin is a reflection of Germany’s diversity. Whether culturally, architecturally or historically: the capital is colourful and combines a great deal. The cultural offerings are unique, classy shopping centres, in the ‚Friedrichsstraße’ exists many alternative quarters such as Prenzlauer Berg and Kreuzberg. World famous sights, post socialist melancholy, magnificent Wilhelmian buildings and relics of old Berlin merge here for a heterogeneous unity.
